Gold Farming Tips - A Few Simple Ideas to Maximize Your Farming
Gold farming tips for World of Warcraft – they’re not all created equal. It’s important to optimize your efforts when you’re out grinding gold. You’ve read all the articles about where to farm, what mobs to kill, what materials to sell, etc. But there are ways that you can wring even more gold out of your existing gold gathering efforts. Here’s just a few of them:
1) Don’t overlook the gray items. Most people focus on the big items they are getting off of mobs. It might be green items or weapons, faction quest turn-ins, or materials for craft-able gear. Either way, don’t let that central goal make you forget that picking up a gray item here and there worth 1g or more can really add to the bottom line. Be sure you’re hauling all of those back to a vendor and selling them for cash.
2) Optimize for your professions. If there are two farming areas that are close in gold/hour, make sure to pay attention to what’s around. If you’re a skinner, you probably should prefer the areas where you’ll be killing animals. Otherwise you may rather go for humanoids for the cash drops. Miners would obviously want to choose areas that have profitable metal deposits.
3) Vendor proximity is a good thing. If you’re picking up lots of items (especially gray items), you’ll need to sell them. The less time you spend round tripping to the vendor, the more time you’ll have to do the real grinding. It may not seem like a big deal, but squeezing every bit of cash out of the process adds up over time. Be mindful of where you are and where the nearest vendor is – it might be the tipping point between one spot and another.
4) Consider the whole picture. When you are comparing two farming locations, presumably by the hourly rate, don’t forget to take everything into account. How much were your repairs? How long did it take to get there? Did you pick up something you needed for raids while farming (ie, pots) that saved you time elsewhere? Don’t get so narrowly focused that you choose an overall inferior spot to farm gold.
These are just a few of the things that will contribute to your success in earning gold in World of Warcraft. Remember, once you have the basics down, it’s time to start looking towards fine tuning things. You can do that by following these gold farming tips.
