Gold Farming Quickies – Insane hourly earn rates near Dalaran for engineers
One of the most important things I’m looking for when farming gold is something that can be done in just a couple minutes. It’d be great to be able to farm gold over time without having to spend big chunks of time mindlessly killing the same mob or whatever. One of the keys is to be able to reach the location quickly, and as most people are bound in Dalaran, that’s where we’ll center the search. This particular quick tip is for engineers only.
Assuming you have Zapthrottle Mote Extractor, you can earn insane amounts of money with only a bit of time investment. Grab your extractor, your goggles or other mote-spotting device, and hit the road for the easiest gold farming ever. After you take off from Dalaran, turn south and head into Wyrmrest. In the Northwest corner at Coldwind Heights, near the harpees, there is a mote that spawns. It’s usually up, so grab it if it’s there.
From there, head due South to the edge of the crevice where there’s another mote spawn point. Then you’ll want to head west, right up into the mountains South or just slightly Southwest of Angrathar the Wrath Gate. Jump back on your mount and go Southeast into the Obsidian Dragonshire. There is a very fast spawning fire mote cloud at the bottom which is easy to grab and go.
For bonus motes, you can fly just over the mountain range into the edge of WIntergrasp. There are two mote clouds that spawn in the crater which are pretty easy to pick up. Don’t forget though that Wintergrasp is a PVP zone, and entering will flag you and make you vulnerable to attack. If you enjoy PVP, it’s a great opportunity to have some fun and pick up a bit of honor while farming gold. Otherwise you might want to check if anyone else is there and skip it if there is someone of the opposite faction there.
This entire rout should take only 4 minutes or so, and can result in 12 motes or even more. That’s an entire primal plus some, which is awefull amazing for such a short period of time. If that sells for even 40 gold, that would average out to almost 500 gold an hour. Where else are you going to make that kind of cash?
Of course, the balancing factor is that you can’t do this non-stop. The clouds take some time to respawn, so it’s not very effective to try to run a circuit over these few spots. But since it’s SO fast, and it’s right outside Dalaran, you can literely do it on your way to almost anywhere. Do this a couple times a day and your bank account will be growing by leaps and bounds. Engineering may not be the best of professions, but for farming gold it’s not too shabby.
