Daily Fishing Quest – Let’s Talk About the Rewards

As you may be aware, there is a daily fishing quest available in World of Warcraft.  Actually, to be exact there are 5 daily fishing quests.  We aren’t going to look at the details of each quest, but instead focus on the rewards that can be attained by completing the quests.  But let’s at least review what the quests are:

·         Shrimpin’ Ain’t Easy

·         Bait Bandits

·         The One That Got Away

·         Felblood Fillet

·         Crocolisks in the City

When you complete these quests you receive a Bag of Fishing Treasures, which contains multiple items.  First it will contain some gold, and usually some grey items which you can sell.  Those aren’t particularly interesting, right?  Let’s talk about what you’re really looking for when you do a daily fishing quest, the more unique items.

Spun Truesilver Fishing Line – this is a single use item that permanently adds +3 fishing skill to your fishing pole.  It works like an enchantment.

Eye of the Sea – this blue gem gives +15 stamina.  To be fair, since it doesn’t really add anything for fishing, it’s probably not going to be that sought after.

Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat – this is a truly required item for any serious fisherman.  The hat adds a bunch of stats, but the important one is that it adds +5 fishing.  It also has an effect of being able to attach a lure to your line which adds +75 fishing skill.  It basically works out to unlimited fishing lures, so you don’t have to buy them or cart them around anymore.

Elixir of Water Walking – no surprise here, this potion lets you walk on water.  It can be real handy for getting those rare fish you’re after.

Sharpened Fish Hook – while you may not be big on this once you have the fishing hat, it does add a whopping 100 fishing skill for 10 minutes, so if you need that extra oomph it could come in handy.

On top of all of these, you can also pick up some unique pets from Crocolisks in the City including: Toothy’s Bucket, Snarly’s Bucket, Muckbreath’s Bucket, and Chuck’s Bucket.  Each of these items summons a cute little crocolisk pet.

One last interesting thing that can be gotten is a recipe for Captain Rumsey’s Lager.  If you’re a cook at all, this will probably be a recipe you’ll want to have in the books.

If any of these items are of interest to you, you might want to take a break from the hard core gold farming and run a daily fishing quest or two.  Take time to stop and smell the fish.
