Best Gold Farming – Easy Money Through Smart Shopping

You need to farm some gold, no shocker there.  Everyone in World of Warcraft needs gold to make purchases of armor, weapons, mounts, enchants, gems, pots, supplies, and who knows what else.  That probably leads to research gold farming methods, trying to find the best and fastest way to do it.  But the real answer is that there is a way for you to get some gold without doing a lot of work.  How?  By making some smart purchases at the right time.

It comes down to people not understanding what the right price for an item is, and you taking advantage of it.  You can capitalize on their lack of knowledge and exploit it for your benefit.  When someone posts an item for a low price that you know can be sold much higher, you can buy it quick before anyone else and relist it at a higher price.  But before you start purchasing stuff left and right, make sure you adhere to this guidance.

First, you have to know what the item is.  There is a scam that’s gone around a few times where people artificially create a history of high prices on an item and then start listing them for sale at a lower price.  The trick is that the item is practically worthless, and once you’ve bought in at the ‘low’ price, you won’t be able to sell it to anyone else.  So never buy items that you don’t know what they are.

Secondly, make sure that you are confident in the value of the item.  By value we mean the actual, overall value, not whatever the current market price is.  Sometimes items go through short spikes due to shortages or sudden demand.  In order to safely profit from buying low and selling high, you have to know what the normal price is.  The way to get this knowledge is to track the prices of items over time; in other words, check the price of the items on the auction house every time you log on.

Lastly, focus on items that are bought and sold a lot.  You don’t want to traffic in high priced items, like epic gear that sells for 2000 gold.  The problem with these is that you have to tie up a significant amount of your ‘nest egg’ in these items.  There’s a lot of risk in the event that you can’t sell it.  If you stick to items that regularly have multiples listed on the auction house at a time, there’s a lot lower chance of getting in trouble.  In other words, focus on selling stuff that moves a lot of inventory per day rather than those that only sell once in a while.

Keeping all of that in mind, watch for items that are priced significantly below their real value.  You are shopping for big discounts, not 5% or anything else minor.  Find items that are 20%, 40%, or even 60% below regular value to really rack up the profits.  Once you find them, go ahead and relist them on the auction house at a price slightly below your competition.  You want your items to sell as fast as you can so that you keep your capital liquid.

The best gold farming method isn’t farming at all, at least in the traditional sense.  It’s an easy way for you to accumulate gold in World of Warcraft without putting in too much effort.  Don’t bother with those overhyped techniques that require you to put in hundreds of hours running the same loops to gather materials, repeating a quest over and over, or whatever else.  Do your gold farming in town, at the auction house, in just a few minutes a day.
